New conversions return back to being sinners almost immediately.

So many times, I have been to special church services and seen hordes of people going up the front to give their lives to Christ. However, most of them I never see again or they come along to church for a bit but then stop coming. Most conversions don’t result in committed Christians and the obvious reason would be because becoming “born again” is not all it’s cracked up to be. In reality there is no new creation and brand-new man. It’s the same person with the same old struggles and they quickly get real and realise there is STILL no god in their lives. 

So much for the Holy Spirit!

Oh, and by the way, if you really take notice of all those people that come up the front to give their lives to Christ… a large portion of them will be existing Christians acting as councillors ready to guide the new converts to Christ. They go up so that those who want to convert will feel more comfortable about going up themselves. No one wants to risk being the only one! At big crusades there will be hundreds of councillors going up.
