My current favourites

Book of Boba Fett

The critics have been a little harsh on this one, but I'm loving it. Great to see more of Return of the Jedi, including some creepy Hutts.

The Boys

How this show gets through the censors I'll never know. Every episode has at least one thing truly sick and perverted.

But I just can't stop watching it!

Dr Who

What a great comeback and some great doctors, making up for the poor performances of doctors 6, 7 and 8. (although it will be a cold day in hell before I acknowledge Paul McGann as doctor number 8) David Tennant is by far the best new doctor in the new era, portraying a very similar role to that of the greatest doctor of them all, Tom Baker. May this show continue for another 50 years.

Update 2025: I'm not onboard with it as much these days due to it going woke, but will keep it here for now.

 Hell's Kitchen

One reality TV show I still love watching even though it's been around for so long.

There's something perversely fun about watching a heap of young chef's being verbally abused and insulted by Gordon Ramsay.

I'm sure this asshole would have been a bully at school.

The Last of Us

Possibly the best envisioning of a video game to ever appear on TV or movie.

They're doing a great job staying true to the game. Looks the same. Same feel. Awesome. Brilliant performances.

And even though I've played the games more than once and know what's gonna happen, it has me sitting on the edge of my seat.

The Mandalorian

This is a must see for Star Wars fans.

Set a few years after "The Return of the Jedi", it takes us back to Tatooine where we get plenty of Jawas and Tuskin Raiders. Plenty of salutes to the original movies, plus appearances by well known Star Wars characters.

I love it.

The Orville

If you ever longed for the return of Star Trek - Next Generation, this is the show for you.

It's an unashamed rip-off of it with a more humorous tone.  Even some of the characters are similar!

Despite being a rip-off it comes up with some original story lines, loveable characters, and deals with 21st century issues.

Squid Game

This is an awesome TV show made in Korea with English dubbing (so you don't have to read it!). A heap of cash starved people, enter a competition where they have to compete in kid's games, but these games have horrific consequences if you lose.

Well developed characters who you can root for, all facing moral dilemmas every step of the way. Lots of tension, and many surprises. Almost every time I predicted an outcome, I was wrong.

 Survivor

I don’t care if you hate reality TV. I love it and Survivor is still my personal favourite. I love the conflict between the participants, which keeps this show fresh.

Update 2025: Like the Simpsons, I haven't watched this regularly for a long time now. Although that's because it's not usually available to me on streaming services. Seems as though it's losing it's appeal to people. But I shall keep it here for now.

The Walking Dead

FINALLY a TV show about zombies and staying true to George A Romero’s classic zombie tales. May this show keep going for many years! Just a pity that Rick is such a dumb ass! Oh and I’d really like to tell all the characters in that show. “They are called zombies! ZOMBIES! That’s what everyone in the world have been calling them now for decades!”
