100 Reasons I no longer believe - 53

God created Satan!

Many Christians believe that Lucifer was a guardian cherub (Ez 28:14), who was given the job to guard God’s throne.

Guard God’s throne? Seriously?

An omni-present, all-powerful being needs his throne guarded? Why would he even have a throne anyway, let alone need to defend it. Who is he defending it against? The only enemy the bible tells us God has is Lucifer himself as there is supposedly only one God. So he assigns the one guy he knows full well has designs on being the king himself to guard his throne. Helloooo… God…knock knock knock… is anybody home?

The big issue I have with Satan is if he were real, he wouldn’t be able to do half the things for which he’s given credit. He control you or violate your freewill.  He is not omnipresent. He is not a God and is only a mere angel. This means that he cannot possibly be out tempting everyone on the planet at the same time. He just doesn’t have enough time in the day. Nor is he omniscient, so he does not have knowledge of every human being. Therefore, if he was real chances are he wouldn’t have even heard of the majority of human beings, just a minute handful. Why would we even register on his radar? No supernatural being would care about our dirty little habits, or lack thereof, or what we do or don’t do behind closed doors. We just aren’t that big a deal!

I have to consider now, if I were Satan, wouldn’t I have better things to do than try to drag every human on Earth down with me? I’d be out living it up for as long as I could before God finally got off his lazy keester and did something about me. When I think about it, what kind of sick being would get its jollies spending its every waking moment trying to coerce human beings into doing perverse and evil acts? Furthermore, how even more sick and twisted is a being who’d create such a warped creature?

Another question I now ask myself is what kind of stupid, moronic being would ever try to usurp the position of the creator in the first place? Satan’s not stupid is he? Well I guess he must be if he could ever believe he could be more powerful than God. In fact, he would have to be some A-grade moron, or worse! Unless… Well… I mean God wasn’t too bright creating such a warped creature in the first place, especially considering he knew beforehand what a despicable villain he’d become. Perhaps God was such a terrible, cruel taskmaster, that Satan rebelled on principle?
